Now nearly a year ago, last autumn; I indulged in some creations, that fit right into my skillset and visual pleasures and preferences. Unlikely it may seem to like certain aesthetics – it sure was a blast to make and do.
It all started with a sizeable lot of brand new toilet seats… to be dressed – ‘painted’ in, to fit this immersive theatre/ Cocktail bar ALCOTRAZ.
So it wasn’t gonna be pretty.
Layer upon layer of dirt, rust … emulated – and yes dirtying down and ageing :gotta be my favourite thing.
To then be placed as ‘seats’ in situe of this Cocktail bar – embraced by immersive theatre performances.
And in keeping with the story world of decay and abhorrent – the freshly built walls had to get their treatment too.
Learning and making some surface finishes (this one is gonna be pretend to be cement with the last layer of grey) …

And this set and scene was given to the public ( November 2022).
Learning that I quite like being caught in a story world !? LOL … for a few days, doing it for the arts.
In the Art-department
