A little different and maybe not so much an art department entry but yet my Art. Triggered by my stay and artist residency in Cumbria earlier this year : https://www.edenarts.co.uk/blog/artists-spare-room-daniela-fleckenstein
I have taken time to write and explore themes and possible outlets for my poetry and spoken word. And low and behold it got picked up by BBC Radio and their ‘Upload show’ – putting one of my pieces on air… ‘mesmerising’, he said ( Carl Leamont) before an interview recording followed.
However here is the Poem- that I sent to BBC Upload – from my time spent in Cumbria, where I wrote the piece, processing purpose and meaning. Nice little sound effect they added there; featuring it on a couple of shows on the 18-07-24 & 20-07-24 in the NW of this country.
The interview that followed ( recorded a week before and edited) took me by surprise with unrehearsed questions, that I never knew I had ( some sort of) answer to.
Wasn’t quite so prepared to have my poem put under a magnifying glass , with feedback that it ‘resonates nearly on an epiphany level’ , “packing a punch” , “…slightly of the beaten track”. .. strangely enough – I did feel heard. An experience quite unique in this context.
Listening back ( yeah goes on a bit) – I was yet again suprised to hear what stand I have taken, as an artist in this world. Encouraging me to keep going , with what I am doing.
And perhaps appreciating creativity even more, whatever the medium – looking forward to finding poetry not only in words, but in objects and more – applying my character and style in any sort of expressions – should be the context; set or story – to bring to life and share.
